For me, I still can’t believe that Jean Robert Metellus has passed away. It’s feels like a dream. However, it has happened and now we are all facing the truth of it; we will never see him again to talk, dialogue, and laugh together. This loss is not only for the family members but for the whole Haitian community and all of us, his friends. Jean Robert Metellus wasn’t just a humble father to his 4 children; he was a terrific father and role model for many of us in the community. A radio host for more than 25 years who always aimed to ask even his political opponents the most polite questions. I have known Metellus since I got here in 1992 – he has been a mentor, brother and great friend to me since. Metellus was a very proud and royal member of the political party “Fanmi Lavalas” which he will defend until his last breath, according to him. His passing is extremely difficult and painful for all of us. We will definitely miss him a lot but we know that his spirit remains with us always. May the Lord prepare a special place for him in heaven and protect and bless his family who are here with us.
